I came across Okinawa Gardeners group on Facebook today, and I noted lots of people with questions about gardening on Okinawa. I don't have Facebook so am unable to contribute to the group via Facebook, but if you are a member or know someone who is, I would appreciate you letting them know about my BooKoo post.
I started gardening in Okinawa about 4 years ago, so I do have some experience gardening on Okinawa. I have successfully raised the following in garden beds: green beans, carrots, cucumbers, moui (red hmong), sweet potatoes, spinach, leafy lettuces, onions, goya (bitter melon), tomatoes, butternut squash, kabocha (Japanese pumpkin), arugula, Swiss chard, peas, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, beets, zucchini, watermelon, basil, etc. Pictured are some of what I have grown.
If you have gardening-related questions, send them to me and I will be happy to answer with what I know or have learned.
