Revising this post after it (or me) was referred to as racist by a bookoo subscriber. I know this to not be true, but these things must be seen in the eyes of the beholder and taken seriously.
Revised post: Made in Ghana (I cannot authenticate this but that was what I was told when purchased), and would be referred to as a Gyli or Gyil there according to my research. Similar to a xylophone in sound and construction, but much bigger and made of wood. Has been stored away for several years, but still makes a beautiful sound. I never used it as an instrument, but have displayed it as home decor off and on over the past 20 years. 90cm long, 52cm tall, and 55cm wide at it widest point.
Original post: Made in Ghana (if what I was told when purchased 20 years ago is true) and would be referred to as a Gyli or Gyil there. I call it (with no disrespect intended) a wooden xylophone. Has been stored away for several years, but still makes a beautiful sound. I never used it as an instrument, but have displayed it as home decor off and on over the past 20 years. 90cm long, 52cm tall, and 55cm wide at it widest point.
