Good condition pair of DT990 headphones. They work great, but I use a $1500 pair of planar magnetics now and these are just sitting. The thing I miss the most is the comfort; these can be worn for hours, even with glasses on, with no discomfort. Comes with jack adaptor and case.
"The Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition (600 Ohm) is an open-back, audiophile-grade headphone known for its wide soundstage, detailed high frequencies, and punchy bass.
Key Specifications
• Design: Open-back, circumaural (over-ear)
• Impedance: 600 Ohms
• Frequency Response: 5 Hz – 35,000 Hz
• Weight: 290 g (without cable)
• Cable: Straight, single-sided 3-meter cable with a 3.5 mm jack and a screw-on 6.35 mm (1/4") adapter
• Identification: The "600 Ω" marking is hot-stamped onto the plastic shaft of the connection plug.
Sound Profile
• Treble: Prominent, bright, and detailed, with a notable peak in the upper frequencies that some listeners find sharp or fatiguing (often managed via EQ).
• Bass: Deep, punchy, and elevated above neutral.
• Midrange: Slightly recessed, though clear for vocals and acoustic instruments.
• Soundstage: Very wide, airy, and speaker-like.
Amplification Requirements
• Dedicated Amp Needed: Because of the high 600-ohm impedance, these headphones require a dedicated, high-voltage/high-output headphone amplifier to reach proper listening volumes and optimal dynamic control. Plugging them directly into a standard smartphone, tablet, or basic unamplified source will result in very low volume levels.
Pricing and Availability
• New units typically retail around $199.99 to $215.50 USD"
